Our Church Spiritual Climate

Our church’s spiritual climate is characterized by warmth, love, and a deep commitment to spiritual growth. Members are encouraged to nurture their faith through prayer, worship, and ongoing discipleship. We value openness to the Holy Spirit’s guidance, fostering an atmosphere where all are welcomed, and spiritual journeys are supported. This environment enables our congregation to grow both individually and collectively, strengthening our relationship with God and each other.

We at First Christian Church (Disciple of Christ) of Hanford are a loving, and welcoming group of people from diverse backgrounds who have come together to learn of Christ’s, nature while learning about each other. We are a welcoming, loving, and accepting congregation that seeks to help each person establish a personal relationship with Jesus Christ while learning to love and learn from each other despite differing viewpoints.

Vision

Our vision is to be a church of hope that transforms society into the kingdom of God by sharing God’s word and the love of Christ in word and deed. Secondly, to build bridges that work toward unity, understanding, and empathy toward diverse cultures. Thirdly, develop and work toward understanding, compassion, and kindness as we promote the love of Christ in all corners of the world that we, as the church, are fortunate to reach.

Mission

Our mission is to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ in word, deed, and God’s love for humankind in all sectors of society, such as church, family, community, religion, politics, business, and entertainment. To be the hands and feet of Jesus as a ray of hope to those who need Christ the most in society.
 

Embracing these core values, we strive to foster a nurturing environment where every individual feels seen, heard, and valued. Through intentional outreach, heartfelt worship, and active service, our congregation endeavors to be a living testament to faith in action. Whether through collaborative ministries, small Sunday school groups, or compassionate community engagement, we seek to create spaces that encourage spiritual growth and authentic connection.

The First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Hanford is a welcoming and accepting congregation. We believe that Christ intent was to share his love and welcome all people to learn and fellowship with him. We believe that ALL means All. Everyone who enters our doors will always feel the love of Christ, welcoming and accepting the spirit of a true Church family. We are multicultural and diverse in backgrounds and belief systems that work together in unity. We strongly believe in sharing Christ’s love toward each other and everyone who enters our doors. We are a growing multigeneration church that learns through dialogue and embracing each other.  We are a church that has room for you, your gifts, and talents. We strongly believe that church should be a place that you can grow at your own pace without fear of judgment. We are a place of Christ’s love, welcoming spirit, and teaching to all.

Who are we affiliated with?

We are affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United States and Canada. We are also a part of the Northern California -Nevada Region of the Church.
